Set in Côte d’Azur during the summer of 1915, Renoir paints a portrait of an acclaimed but ailing painter, his war-torn young son and the dynamics of their untraditional family.

When a young woman named Andrée walked through the gates of the Renoir property, she became a catalyst to both Auguste Renoir and his son Jean. Auguste, in need of a new muse, re-discovers the beauty of painting still life. Jean, fresh from the war and on the mend of his wounds, learns what it means to love and is faced with the daunting idea of life outside of being a soldier.
