Zaytoun is set amongst the 1982 war between Israel and Lebanon, when many Palestinians were forced to flee to Beirut and live as refugees. They find themselves with a prisoner of war when an Israeli fighter pilot crash-lands outside the camp. But the pilot finds an unlikely ally in a small boy, and the two help each other in their respective quests.
