The Metrocare Auxiliary will host the luncheon the 2013 Meal for the Minds Luncheon, which includes the 6th annual Edible Auction featuring cakes from Dallas’ top pastry chefs. The luncheon also features a fourth annual art sale of work by Art Focus XC, an elite group of juried Dallas artists. The keynote speaker will be Pete Earley, bestselling author of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize finalist book Crazy: A Father’s Search Through America’s Mental Health Madness. The focus of this year’s luncheon is on the services Metrocare provides for clients with mental health challenges and how appropriate community supports are required for those individuals also involved in the criminal justice system.
