Timothy Egan will share stories from his National Book Award-winning book, The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl, which Walter Cronkite hailed as “can’t-put-it-down-history.” The New York Times says, “Egan uses the past powerfully to explain and give dimension to the present.”
At this event he will do so by discussing the land and water conservation issues evoked in Alexandre Hogue’s bleak Dust Bowl landscapes currently on view at the DMA as well as those that threaten our future.
A book signing will follow the event.
