The Dance Council of North Texas will present the inaugural Dallas DanceFest. The three-day event promises to deliver excellence, vibrancy, vitality and diversity in dance. DDF features performances by Dallas luminaries including Texas Ballet Theater, Bruce Wood Dance Project and Dallas Black Dance Theatre in addition to established, emerging, and academic dance companies and artists.

Dance Council Honors coincides with DDF on August 31. This year’s honorees include Nita Braun (posthumous honor), Suzie Jary, Beth Wortley, Buster Cooper (posthumous honor), Joe Cutaia and Ann Briggs-Cutaia and Dylis Croman. The afternoon begins with a reception followed by a program that includes performances by 2014 DCNT Scholarship recipients, professional dance companies, a silent auction and the Honors awards presentation.
