The 2014 Fort Worth Opera Festival will present Cosi fan tutte. For Ferrando and Guglielmo, their fiancées Dorabella and Fiordiligi are the best women in the world—none more loving, beautiful, faithful, or kind. So, when persuaded to wager on their lovers’ constancy, the men assume an easy win. However, Mozart’s layered comedy reminds us that love can be a dangerous game. Spurred on by the old philosopher Don Alfonso and the thorny maid Despina, Ferrando and Guglielmo embark on an elaborate scheme of love and seduction, complete with absurd disguises, faked suicides, feigned hallucinations, and one really big magnet. As the girls’ fidelity is tested, the men are shocked by an outcome they could never have expected. In true Mozart fashion, all ends happy and well, but not without a few lessons learned along the way.

Performed in Italian with supertitles in English and Spanish.
