Honoring the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, 4th and 5th grade students from Dallas ISD will deliver original speeches of five minutes answering the question: “If Dr. King were speaking at a March on Washington today, what would he say?” Students representing 20 DISD schools participated in the in-school competitions from October 14-25 and one student from each school advanced to the preliminary on Dec. 10. Of those 20, eight students continue on to the final competition on January 17, 2014.
