SMU's Meadows School of the Arts will host the Lev Aronson Legacy Festival, an annual tribute to former Dallas Symphony Orchestra cellist Lev Aronson, who miraculously survived Nazi concentration camps in World War II through dedication to music and pure determination.

The week-long festival features performances by a number of world-class performers and teachers, including Brian Thornton (cellist in the Cleveland Orchestra), renowned cellist Ralph Kirshbaum, SMU's Andres Diaz, TCU's Jesus Castro-Baldi, Rice's Norman Fischer and versatile cello star Mike Block, cellist of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road project.

The festival will also include master classes with various musicians and free concerts at other locations. Go to levaronsonlegacy.com for a full schedule of events.
