The Lone Star Film Festival will present the Texas premiere of Mr. Turner. The peerless Mike Leigh (Secrets & Lies, Topsy-Turvy) serves up his decades-in-the-making passion project: a warts-and-all biography of British master J.M.W. Turner.

As the title character, Leigh regular Timothy Spall is a wonder – a grunting, growling genius willing to do anything, and hurt anyone, in order to create transcendent art. Featuring soon-to-be-legendary cinematography by Dick Pope, whose painterly, light-suffused images are every bit as beautiful as Turner famed canvases.
