One of the great creature features of the 1950s, Jack Arnold’s classic tale Creature from the Black Lagoon introduced one of Universal’s most iconic monsters and inspired writers and filmmakers for decades. A research team in the Amazon discovers the missing link between man and amphibian: the frightening Gill-Man, a primordial beast who becomes fascinated by young scientist Kay Lawrence (Julie Adams). Filmed in 3D and featuring impressive cinematography above and below the water, the film remains an unforgettable, thrill-packed experience.
For its 60th anniversary, the USA Film Festival proudly presents a restored print of the original 3D version. Star Julie Adams will also sign copies of her memoir, The Lucky Southern Star:
Reflections From The Black Lagoon. The screening will be hosted by film noir scholar Foster Hirsch.
