After being separated for a year, Marc (Jan Cornet) and Raquel (Claudia Bassols) re-unite to take advantage of a coveted reservation at Chakula, the best restaurant in the world, on the night before it closes forever. Behind the scenes, head chef Mar (Vicenta N’Dongo) faces an uncertain future and manager Max (Andre Tarbet) tries to keep the evening running smoothly.
Meanwhile, in the dining room, the former owner (Fionnula Flanagan) shares a table with her husband’s ashes and Japanese investors, Raquel’s editor-turned-fiance (Timothy Gibbs), and a man who may or may not be a critic (Stephen Rea) add to the drama on what turns out to be an unforgettable, life-changing evening for everyone.
Flanagan will join the festival on Friday, April 25; audiences can speak with her about Tasting Menu as well as her other new film, Life's a Breeze.
