Das Boot
is an epic film that unfolds almost entirely in the cramped confines of a Nazi U-Boat during World War II. The large crew goes about its deadly business in unspeakably dangerous conditions under the direction of their captain (Jurgen Prochnow). Director Wolfgang Peterson captures an intimate, claustrophobic world in this classic German film.
