The things we do for love can be crazy, amazing, and beautiful. But, sometimes it pushes us to the extreme, and into reckless abandon.
Star-crossed Val and Kandy have learned this the hard way in the smoky Sweet Kandy. They’ve been beaten by life, but have seemingly found safe haven in each other. When Val gets pinched by the feds and is incarcerated, his separation from Kandy is too much to bear. She has reluctantly accepted the engagement of another man, driving Val to risk everything.
To us, their actions are wild and rash, but to them, they’ll commit any crime to regain their love. Beautifully told in Nicholas Peate’s directorial debut, this Cajun noir is a love burned saga of two young lovers willing to go to extraordinary lengths to find happiness.
