Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is continuing its tradition of extolling the work and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. Oratory Competition.
This year, students will deliver original 3-5 minute speeches answering the question, ''If Dr. King were to win the Nobel Peace Prize today, what would he say in his acceptance speech?''
Established in 1993 in Dallas and expanded four years later to Houston, this unique event encourages the development of research, writing and oratory skills of hundreds of Dallas and Houston elementary school children. The students' speeches not only address how Dr. King impacts today's world but also illustrate how his words continue to affect their lives and inspire their perspectives.
