Local business and community leaders and students will hold a colorful, exciting kick-off event for Dallas’ second annual Lemonade Day, which takes place Saturday, May 2. Musicians will perform and home-made lemonade will be served during this festive kick-off celebration.
First launched in 2007, Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches kids about free enterprise by empowering them to start and operate their very own business: a lemonade stand. More than 225,000 kids from pre-K through high school in 35 U.S. cities participated in last year’s Lemonade Day. Nearly 50 cities will take part this year, and organizers are aiming for an eventual goal of 1 million lemonade stands in 100 cities across America. The whole community is encouraged to buy lemonade from a young entrepreneur at one of the thousands of stands dispersed across the greater Dallas area.
