The second edition of the popular SMOKED Dallas will feature edible offerings prepared by 10 award-winning traditional pitmasters and celebrated chefs doing their take on barbeque. Among the participating Texas BBQ joints this year are Black’s Barbecue, BBQ on the Brazos, Bet The House, Cousins BBQ, Heim Barbecue, Hutchins BBQ, Lockhart Smokehouse, Louie Mueller Barbecue, Opie’s Barbecue and Schmidt Family Barbecue, with desserts served by Haute Sweets Patisserie.
Participating chefs will include Norman Van Aken (Norman’s -- Orlando; NPR - A Word on Food), Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto, New York, author -- A Great American Cook), Aarón Sánchez (Paloma – Stamford, CT; Johnny Sanchez – New Orleans & Baltimore; Food Network – Chopped; Cooking Channel – Taco Trip), Robert Del Grande (RDG + Bar Annie -- Houston), Nick Badovinus (Neighborhood Services -- Dallas; Off-Site Kitchen -- Dallas; co-winner, Robb Report Culinary Masters 2015), Chris Southwick (The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas), and Dean Fearing (Fearing’s -- Dallas; co-winner, Robb Report Culinary Masters 2015; author – The Texas Food Bible).
Live music at the event will include Asleep At The Wheel, The Suffers, Bobby Patterson, Pleasant Grove, The Vandoliers, Dean Fearing’s Lost Coyote and Quaker City Nighthawks. Tickets for the evening concert offering can be purchased along with BBQ dining tickets, or as a standalone entertainment experience.
