Texas’ largest celebration of all things veggie returns to Dallas. The seventh annual event, centered on plant-based cuisine, healthy green living, and animal welfare features vegan food and product vendors, chef demos, a beer garden, live music, yoga and kids’ activities, and speakers.
This year's event is expected to welcome thousands of guests and supporters, including Music Stage sponsor Blue Circle Media. Other partners and sponsors include Mercy For Animals, Breeze Energy, Best Thai Signature, Nessel Development, Reverie Bakeshop, and Trinity Hall providing the local beer garden. New this year is the addition of chefs and speakers to present demos to Spanish-speaking attendees. Eddie Garza, food and nutrition manager with The Humane Society of the United States, will talk about his journey from an unhealthy 300 pound man to a healthy 150 pound vegetarian and will demonstrate delicious plant-based Mexican recipes from his new book, ¡Salud! Vegan Mexican Cookbook. Joining Garza is chef and restaurateur Miguel Bautista, with plant-based recipes from Vegan Planet, his critically acclaimed restaurant in Cancun, Mexico.
Other speakers include Dr. Martica Heaner, PhD., giving a talk on Losing Weight & Boosting Health on a Plant-based Diet; Big Bald Mike - the "Most Massive Vegan On Earth" - performing impossible feats of strength and discussing his transformation from a drug/alcohol addict to a vegan strength athlete. In addition, fair favorite Nyse Collins returns with an all new "How Healthy is your Lifestyle?" Pavilion, offering an opportunity for adults and children to visit various stations to examine your current lifestyle and learn about various ways to improve your health with plant-based thinking. Breeze Energy will also be on hand to moderate a vegan fashion panel including local designers Nikki Duong Koenig of Cykochick and Kat Mendenhall of KatMendenhall.com.
Entertainment will be provided by rhythmic, soul-folk California artist Emily Elbert as well as a DJ set by Kneel Cohn from Warshow Angels.
Texas Veggie Fair’s mission is to bring together, educate and expand the plant-based community regionally, nationally and worldwide with a positive, entertaining and educational experience in a fun, welcoming environment.
