The Historic Granbury Merchants Association will sponsor a new Festival, Labor Day Lake Fest 2017. The festival will run with activities spread from the downtown Courthouse Square to the City Beach and nearby Hewlett Park. Designed to be great fun for both visitors and locals alike, this festival promises to be a great way to celebrate the end of summer and to kick-off the fall.
A great complement of vendors will be selling items on the Square and all the shops around the square will be bristling with signs about great Labor Day sales and running extended hours. There will be Kids Games, Food, a Petting Zoo, and more. There will also be fantastic music entertainment on the city stage on the Square. The event will also feature a fishing tournament. Also on the city beach will be all the usual water activities like kayak’s and tubes etc., rent a bicycle, stand up waterboard, or even a surrey to ride to the square or to the parks. On Sunday night, there will be a lighted boat parade on Lake Granbury. There’s gonna be lots of fish and hot dogs and fixings like Brookshire’s award winning beans, fries and slaw.
