2017 Lakewood Conservatory Art Reception & Kids' Art Contest

eventdetail
Artwork by Walter Soza

Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts will be kicking off their winter art gallery and kids’ art competition. LCFA will unveil and feature the works of local artist Walter Soza during their kick-off reception. Soza will be present to discuss his vast collection of pieces which spotlight Dallas-Fort Worth landmarks including many beloved East Dallas sites. During the evening, Soza will unveil his oil rendition of the Lakewood Theater. Guests will have the first look at this one and only rendition of the iconic property.

The kick-off occasion will offer an art activity room where kids can begin their competition creations. The occasion also offers live musical performances by LCFA and PCSOM student musicians and pianist and LCFA co-founder Eva Brandys. Hors d’oeuvres, wine and kid friendly treats will be served.

The winter art competition challenges ages 3-14 to reproduce Walter Soza’s Lakewood Theater. Participants are encouraged to present free interpretation reproductions. Completed reproductions can be submitted to Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts at the kick-off event and through March 31, during open hours. Submitted artwork will be on display at the conservatory through May 1.
