The 38th annual Black Tie Dinner will be full of equality-driven award recipients and inspirational speakers, including Tony & Grammy award-winner Billy Porter. The theme of this year’s dinner is “Be.”

Porter will be honored for his positive impact and contributions to the LGBTQ community. Porter is a performer, pop singer, actor, and activist who is best known for his role as Lola in the musical Kinky Boots, for which he won Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. He currently stars in the television series Pose, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

The 2019 Kuchling Humanitarian Award recipient is Don Maison for his decades-long work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for LGBTQ rights.
