The 37th annual Merry TubaChristmas concert at Thanks-Giving Square will once again feature a group of more than 175 area tuba, sousaphone, euphonium and baritone players playing holiday carols. This year’s guest conductor will be Dr. Jeff Baker, professor of tuba at Texas A&M-Commerce. Master of Ceremonies will be WFAA’s Brett Shipp.
The concert is free and open to the public. All area tuba, sousaphone, euphonium and baritone players are invited to join the performance, with a $10 registration fee for performers. The music book, Carols for a Merry TubaChristmas, is available for $20 at registration for those who need one.
Performers are encouraged to dress in weather-appropriate attire and bring a music stand. Registration and rehearsal will take place the morning of the performance at Thanks-Giving Square. For more information, visit www.tubachristmas.com or e-mail dfwtubachristmas@yahoo.com.
