Celebrity judges and Dallas students will take part in the Advocare Best Tasting Lemonade Contest, which serves as a preview for the upcoming second annual Lemonade Day Greater Dallas. Lemonade Day teaches kids financial literacy by empowering them to open their very own business: a lemonade stand. April is also “Financial Literacy Month, recognizing the need for our children to achieve better financial literacy skills.
Celebrity judges will include Jason Garrett, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys; Rev. S.M. Wright II, co-founder and CEO of the nonprofit S.M. Wright Foundation; Clint Bruce, former Navy SEAL and founder of the national charity Carry the Load; Carl Dorvil, the son of Haitian immigrants and founder of Dallas-based tutoring company Group Excellence; and 10-year-old Mikaila Ulmer, whose Lemonade Day experience led her to launch her own Bee Sweet lemonade brand, leading to an appearance on the hit TV show, Shark Tank, where she received a $60,000 investment.
The event will take place in NorthCourt, on Level One, below AMC Theater, next to the large orange Mark di Suvero sculpture, Ad Astra.
