In association with the Dallas Art Dealers Association's Fall Gallery Walk, Afterimage Gallery will open a show of photographs of the great 20th Century French master Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986). Lartigue received his first camera when he was only seven, and through the ensuing years, he provided a joyful and charming look at the Parisian leisure class. His fame didn't come until the early 1960s, at which time the Museum of Modern Art began acquiring his work.
The show will include signed prints and posthumous estate prints. The estate just began printing some of his rare color work, the early ones produced with the old Lumiere Autochrome process. A few platinum prints will also be included in the exhibit.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through November 21.
