Afterimage Gallery will present Two Seasons, a new show of color and black and white photographs by Walter W. Nelson of The Black Place, made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe.
Nelson is a photographer, painter and sculptor who lives in New Mexico. He has had numerous shows around the country and has been a working artist for decades. This latest body of work has just been published by The Museum of New Mexico in a book entitled The Black Place: Two Seasons. This harsh treeless desert in northwest New Mexico basically has two seasons, a parched hot summer and a brutally cold winter. O'Keeffe painted there some 20 years.
The exhibit will be on display April 19-June 14.
