The Alliance in Reconstructive Surgery Foundation is hosting a women's health event on Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day.

Approximately 70 percent of breast cancer survivors who have had a mastectomy or lumpectomy are unsure of or unaware of their breast reconstruction options, and many of those who desire this surgery do not have sufficient insurance or other resources to cover it. BRA Day is an awareness day designed to put an end to the unknown by promoting public education, patient care and research.

This event is a collaborative effort between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, plastic surgeons specializing in breast surgery, nurse navigators, corporate partners, breast cancer support groups and other organizations. The event will include child-friendly activities, Pilates and Yoga classes as well as vendors who support women's wellness.
