"We Are All Homeless" is a non-profit founded by artist and SMU Meadows School for the Arts professor, Willie Baronet. The mission of the non-profit is to bring empathy and awareness to those experiencing homelessness.
"We Are All Homeless" began as an art project in 1993 exploring questions of compassion, humanity and asking questions about what home really means. Baronet has purchased more than 1,500 homeless signs over the past 30 years. He uses this collection to create installations to raise awareness about homelessness.
The installations provide an experience for people to explore the humanity of the signs, and questions regarding the nature of home, compassion and what it means to truly see each other.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through April 26.
