Jonathan Lethem’s genre-bending fiction weaves the conventions of noir mysteries, westerns, science fiction, and comic books into coming-of-age tales that are evocative and wholly original. At this event, Lethem will discuss his creative process and insights into one of his most popular books, The Fortress of Solitude. Then, Kevin Moriarty (Artistic Director, Dallas Theater Center) will moderate a conversation with Lethem and the creative team responsible for transforming the novel into a musical: Itamar Moses (playwright), Michael Friedman (score) and Daniel Aukin (director). The discussion will be followed by a sneak peek from the musical, which will have its world premiere at DTC and then play at the Public Theater in New York.
