Arts Mission Oak Cliff is staging a live radio show, Radio Live: Spook Noir, in partnership with charlieuniformtango. The Halloween-themed show will feature two 1930s thrillers, Cat Wife and The Meteor Man, written by Arch Oboler and adapted for a modern audience by Jake Kluge.
In Cat Wife, John, a man much abused by his manipulative wife, discovers he has the power to turn people into animals. When he accidentally transforms a loved one, he is desperate to undo the switch. Will he end up regretting the solution he finds?
In The Meteor Man, Diane and Russell, a married couple, are caught in a meteor shower. A large meteor lands near them, and Russell breaks a piece of it open to find a curious creature inside. Diane is afraid, but Russell, a scientist, is eager to learn more. Which of them will be right about its motives for coming to Earth?
Though Arts Mission Oak Cliff has previously hosted performance art groups, this is its first show to be both produced and performed in-house.
