Generations of Adam is an immersive performance installation, conceived, and produced by Artstillery. The performance will be created using Artstillery’s unique method of “generative research and development.”
In this style, the core team will research, interview, and document a topic selected for investigation and then, using a number of physical and movement based, theatrical techniques, craft text, dialogue, and scenes that will be combined with innovative lighting, sound, and media to craft an immersive performance. Community sessions of Embodied Movement Modalities is a new offering to our area to discover narratives for Generations of Adam.
Artstillery’s production of Generations of Adam will investigate institutionalized patterns of abuse. More specifically, the production will look at the domestic, spiritual, and political structures that exist to create and maintain control of environments where abuse occurs. Beyond these structural institutions of abuse, Artstillery will investigate the concepts of victimization, shame cycles, the meaning of the term "patriarchy," and how those things participate in the perpetuation of those power structures.
