Authors Live!: Kelly Corrigan

In The Middle Place, Kelly Corrigan reflected on her relationship with her father while they both battled cancer. In Glitter and Glue: A Memoir, she examines the mother-daughter bond through the lens of a pivotal period in her life. The time was just after college, when the traveling Corrigan took a job as a nanny in a suburb of Sydney, Australia. Ten thousand miles from home, in her new role as caretaker for another family's children, her mother's voice was suddenly everywhere. This is a book about being forced to step up when you're inclined to step out, and the process of learning who it is you admire and why.

The 7 pm event is free and open to the public. A 6 pm reception, by reservation only, is $30 per person and includes a copy of the book. For more information and reservations, call 214-523-2240 or go to www.hpumc.org.
