Loving Frank placed Nancy Horan firmly in the lead of all historical fiction writers. The book was a runaway favorite of critics, booksellers and readers. Now she outdoes herself with Under the Wide and Starry Sky, the love story of Robert Louis Stevenson and Fanny Van de Grift Osbourne, who became his wife and played a key role in his career. Horan invites us to explore this unusual relationship and the ways in which they changed the literary and artistic landscape around them including members of their inner circle, John Singer Sargent and Henry James.
