The Authors Live series will present S. C. Gwynne, who will talk about his novel, Hymns of the Republic: The Story of the Final Year of the American Civil War. The book shows the drive to the end of the American Civil War with Sherman's 285-mile "March to the Sea," the assassination of Lincoln, and the surrender of Robert E. Lee at Appomattox. Gwynne explains these poignant tragedies that forged the Union victory in a war that reverberates in America even today.

The 7 pm event is free and open to the public. A 6 pm reception, by reservation only, is $30 per person and includes a copy of the book.
