Barry Whistler Gallery presents "Monumental I," a group exhibit featuring Matt Kleberg, Skeet McAuley, John Pomara, Allison V. Smith, Ann Stautberg, Lorraine Tady, Liz Trosper, and Randy Twaddle.
This exhibition is the first in a two part series addressing the theme of the monumental. Works included in this installment will feature works using a two-dimensional approach; the second installment, opening this spring, will feature three-dimensional works.
The different approaches of the artists will be highlighted in this exhibition, especially in regards to what constitutes a painting. While Kleberg comprises his architectural influences works with oil stick on canvas, Pomara, Tady, and Trosper’s canvases are created using digital scans and UV inks printed on canvas.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through March 16.
