Barry Whistler Gallery will present the work of Tom Orr for the exhibition, "New Works on Paper." Orr is an interdisciplinary artist who has exhibited extensively during his career both in the United States and in Japan. His site-specific works have been installed in places ranging from John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to the 21st Exhibition of Contemporary Sculpture in Ube Japan.
"New Works on Paper" explores illusions of falling water. Works included in the show are large scale, one work spanning over 12 feet. Orr’s show explores depth and optics executed by overlapping black lines and Orr’s drawings. The drawings create aberration’s for the viewers, challenging the mind to focus on the pieces in a “big picture” way.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through November 23.
