The Slow Down Symposium is an event focused on practical ways we can all make a difference through sustainable measures. This one-of-a-kind fair will highlight a variety of local makers and artisans that are leading the charge for sustainable & ethical practices promoting community over consumerism.
The day-long festival in the Women’s Museum at Fair Park will feature workshops by local artisans, talks from sustainability experts, and a sustainable makers market as the community comes together to learn how to do things better, one choice at a time.
Event goers can learn the art of indigo dying, arrange succulents & plants alongside supporting small local makers that are producing ethical goods. Other attractions include yoga and mindfulness practice, farming demonstrations and a clothing swap. Slow food options will also be available onsite, with workshops and artisan-market goods available for additional purchase.
