Walkers and runners from across the DFW area can support many cancers by participating in a single run on the 6th Annual Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT) One Run. The colorful 5k run/walk, which this year will be co-chaired by Andrews Kurth attorneys and long-time supporters Chrissy Williford and Crystal Jamison Woods, aims to unite all cancer diagnoses as well as survivors and their caregivers, through a single, awe-inspiring display of color as race participants represent their personal cancer color.
Honorary chairs will be Kidd Kraddick Morning Show’s Big Al Mack and Former NBC-5 Anchor Deanna Dewberry, who is also a three-time cancer survivor.
The event will feature an inspirational flag display representing the various cancer diagnoses North Texans are living with today. The run/walk will follow, and a spirited celebration will take place post-race. All proceeds go toward the free support programs CSCNT provides – from networking and support groups to yoga and meditation workshops to children’s programs and educational presentations.
Registration on the day begins at 7 a.m., followed by the walk at 8 a.m. and the run at 8:30 a.m. Free food and entertainment in the park follow, featuring goodies from vendors such as In-N-Out Burger, Torchy’s Tacos and Crisp Salad, and lively music from the band Party Machine. The event is followed by an after-party at the Katy Trail Ice House.
