In collaboration with The Final Acts Project, CSCNT is hosting a one-woman, single act, laugh-out-loud, audience-focused, free conversation/performance called The Dead Giveaway. Bernadette Nason, touring artist with the Texas Commission on the Arts and multiple award-winning storyteller/actress/writer, plays the main character confronting her impending death from cancer as she gives away her possessions to audience members. The interactive and thought-provoking performance engages the audience on a very personal level, encouraging empathy and self-reflection.
A talk-back with Nason, Craig Hurwitz, MD, and Deborah Kaercher of the The Final Acts Project will follow the performance. They will address questions from the audience about end of life planning, advanced directives, and discuss the role the arts plays in this important conversation.
Dinner will be served. RSVP required at Cancersupporttexas.org or 214-345-8230.
