Cara Mía Theatre, in collaboration with Soul Rep Theatre Company, presents the staged reading of the first English translation of Yanga, written by Jaime Chabaud and translated by Tomás Ayala-Torres.

Yanga shatters the antiquated construct of what it means to be Latinx with the story of one of Mexico’s first revolutionaries, African Prince Gaspar Yanga who successfully negotiated an independent territory with the Crown of Spain in the early 1600’s.
