CarBaret Drive-In presents The Last Starfighter + Blixaboy
CarBaret presents the 1984 sci-fi cult classic The Last Starfighter + Blixaboy.
When Alex Rogan breaks the all-time high score on a stand-up arcade game at his trailer park, he gets more than his initials on the splash screen. He was whisked away into an intergalactic battle where billions of lives hinged on his ability to defeat an enemy fleet... without needing to line up quarters on the machine. The Last Starfighter is a gem of a movie that combines a script with a ton of heart with CG effects that still hold up decades later.
Wanz Dover alias Blixaboy is bringing a brilliant live set of electro including the aptly titled song "The Last Droid." DJ Devin Pike and resident CNO (chief nerd officer), who is also responsible for this screener, will be spinning 1984 future shock classics, and Video Juice's Dollar Ben will be the 8 bit video hero for the night.
Guests can enjoy the entire show from the socially distanced comfort of their own starship, and broadcast over the FM dial to car or transistor radio on 93.5 FM. The event is limited to 60 cars; anyone who doesn't register for a parking space on Eventbrite will not have a spot.
Walk-ups who bring their own chair can get in for $12; tickets must be purchased ahead of time.
Food and drink purchases are encouraged, but not required. No outside food or drink is allowed.
