CentralTrak, in collaboration with MAP (Make Art with Purpose), will present Transitioners, an international project that ties into MAP’s current investigation of how urban sites and communities are shaped, changed and divided by the intersection of freeways, tunnels and developments, such as strip malls and shopping centers.
Working with artists from around the world to produce and present their work in this area, MAP’s objective is to contribute to civic, academic, and community dialogues about sustainable and environmentally sensitive growth and development.
For this lecture moderated by Janeil Engelstad, Slovak artists Pavlína Fichta Čierna and Matej Vakula will talk about their large scale happening/social practice project, Transitioners, which includes performance, exhibitions, a festival and lectures in the Slovak Republic.
