The 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination has renewed an incredible amount of interest in Dallas history and its political atmosphere during the time of the President’s death. CentralTrak will host two short lectures presented by local scholars Tom Stone, professor of English at SMU, who teaches a class entitled “Making History”, which examines the ways art and literature construct historical meaning; and Michael Phillips, professor of history at Collin County College, author of "White Metropolis: Race, Ethnicity and Religion in Dallas, 1841-2001"(University of Texas Press, 2006). The lectures will be followed by Q & A.
