The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth will present Virtuosi of Two Centuries: Benny Goodman & Richard Mühlfeld, featuring guest clarinetist, Julian Milkis. Described as a true “cross-over” artist and with the distinction of being Benny Goodman’s only living student, Milkis is an internationally acclaimed soloist, chamber musician, recitalist and jazz clarinetist.

The program will includeworks ranging from Gershwin to Brahms. The Gershwin arrangements were written especially for Benny Goodman and the Brahms Clarinet Quintet was inspired by Richard Mühlfeld, German clarinetist and great friend of Brahms.

CMSFW will hold a pre-concert conversation led by program annotator Laurie Shulman with occasional assistance from Artistic Director Gary Levinson and/or performance musicians.  This free discussion is available to all ticket holders.
