The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth will ring in 2014 with a concert featuring Artistic Director Gary Levinson and Friends. This program will offer the audience an opportunity to reacquaint with performers familiar to CMSFW and to be introduced to performers new to the society. Returning to the series will be violinist Felix Olschofka, Associate Professor of Violin at the University of North Texas; violist Michael Klotz of the Amernet Quartet which performed on the Society’s 2012-13 series; and cellist Carter Enyeart, long-time Co-Artistic Director for CMSFW who currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Cello at the Conservatory of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Being introduced to the audience for the first time in performance is the new Artistic Director for CMSFW and Senior Principal Associate Concertmaster for the Dallas symphony, violinist Gary Levinson. Completing the artist roster for this concert is bassist Eugene Levinson, father of Gary Levinson. Eugene Levinson served as principal bassist of the New York Philharmonic for 25 years, and currently serves on the faculty of the Juilliard School of Music.
Works scheduled for this concert are Leclair's Sonata for Two Violins, Beethoven's String Trio Op. 9, No. 2, Handel-Halvorsen's Passacaglia for Violin and Viola and Dvořák's Bass Quintet.
