The latest CineWilde at Texas Theatre will present John Waters' Hairspray. A "pleasantly plump" teenager (Ricki Lake) teaches 1962 Baltimore a thing or two about integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show.

The event will include a pre-show discussion exploring race relations in the 1960s and 1970s and the evolution of women's hair during these decades, a dance competition and a "divine" costume contest. Awards will be given out for best drag queen and drag king, best dressed (male or female or genderfuck), best hair, best dancer, best dance couple, best "Hairpray" inspired and a Lane Bryant Award.
