The exhibition "A Place For Everything, No Time For Nothing" consists of a series of paintings that Peña titles Attempts, a premise he began working under in 2012. Titled numerically in chronological order, each painting formally draws upon the previous. Peña builds up each painting organically, allowing process to guide him. This selection of works represents the artist’s output since September of 2016, highlighting the progression and mutation of visual language. The paintings are conceived of as sites of reflection. They are windows into the artist’s subconscious, left open to diverse interpretation in the hands of the viewer.
The exhibit will run from June 7 to June 25 and Coach will be presenting an artist conversation with Justine Ludwig, Dallas Contemporary and Arthur Peña on June 12.
