Chicago artist Judy Jashinsky is a noted chronicler of historical events and personalities, and brings a fascinating personal voyage into a time of epic world turmoil to Cohn Drennan Contemporary. Over the past several years Jashinsky has created more than 60 works in various media of events, portraits, and personalities key to her memories of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis and the Assassination of President Kennedy, which happened the following year. For this exhibition, Jashinsky has also collaborated with artists from Chicago and Washington, DC to create accompanying installations in the gallery space that reference the cultural climate in the U.S. during these seminal events.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through November 16.
