Conduit Gallery will present "Skin Hungry," a solo exhibition of new paintings by Dallas-based artist, Albert Scherbarth.
Scherbarth’s drawings are born of the direct effects of the pandemic on his life rhythms and overall livelihood. His compulsion to draw as a panacea to the despair resulted in a body of work that, for the artist, has been a centering force. The drawings address the carnal, biological ache of aloneness that so many have been forced into. These shapes and beings, rendered in Prismacolor pencil evoke Scherbarth’s sense of touch unavailable in current circumstances.
The exhibition will remain on display through February 13.
