Conduit Gallery presents their second exhibition of work by Belgium-born, Paris-based painter Saraï Delfindahl.
Paris-based ceramic artist Delfendahl creates fantastical wall-based figural sculptures modeled in earthenware and enameled. Elaborately detailed and inspired by fables, Decorative Arts and Art Brut, each form measures approximately 12 inches high and congregate into a coterie of human/animal hybrids.
The Models series is Delfendahl’s endeavor to create a collection of her own making similar to the Kachina dolls Delfendahl first experienced in a reproduction of French Surrealist Andre Breton’s collection. In addition to the ceramic sculptures, a collection of works on paper will accompany the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain on display through April 6.
