Conduit Gallery will present the first U.S. exhibition of French artist, Saraï Delfendahl. Paris-based ceramic artist Delfendahl will present an installation of dozens of fantastical wall-based figural sculptures modeled in earthenware and enameled.
Elaborately detailed and inspired by fables, Decorative Arts and Art Brut, each form measures approximately twelve inches high and will be installed salon style, in a coterie of human/animal hybrids. "The Models" is Delfendahl’s endeavor to create a collection of her own making similar to the Kachina dolls Delfendahl first experienced in a reproduction of French Surrealist Andre Breton’s collection.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through May 18.
