The Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC), a nonprofit school of visual arts and community arts organization geared to beginning, emerging, and working artists, will host Process to Product: From Inspiration to Innovation. The exhibition, organized in honor of CAC's 50th Anniversary, explores the journey of five CAC teaching artists from conception to a finished solution. Their experience, translated through their hands and hearts, using specific tools and materials, ultimately leads to a piece of finished art.
The concept for this show celebrates the arts education process that CAC students experience in their classes, which is a direct result of each of these teaching artists journey through ideas, inspiration and their fascination with their mediums of ceramics, metals, mixed media, mosaic and printmaking. The exhibition demonstrates the struggle and satisfaction of working through an idea with either the desired outcome or knowledge for the next effort.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through June 18.
